Don't ever restore an old car... just joking. Kind of...
This is my 1965 Ford XP Futura coupe (or hardtop). I have had it for 8 years until I restored it and that took two years. I am not rich by any means and it is the first car I have stripped down and restored. And no bones about it, restoring a car is hard graft. Even stressful, on you and also your partner. Yet at the end of the day, money comes and money goes... and I am no better off or worse financially now than before I restored my car. Just at the time I was always broke. Now I go to car shows and have something in my life that makes me proud of doing. It gives me a massive buzz whenever I see my car. That is what restoring my car means to me... it creates a place in your life that whenever you go there, your a giddy kid. Regardless of the blood, sweat and swearing.
It has a 302 windsor, with a mild cam and ratio changes
C4 with a small stall converter
600 Holley with the choke removed and changes other changes
mustang rear and XW & XD discs on the front, with Fairlaine twin master cylinder, Recondition everything that brakes throughout.
XW seats with XK/Sprint interior trim
XR and Calaxie 14' rims and hubs
Mustang 4 core radiator and twin fans keeps it cool
It has XT/customline V8 fender badges, as it is no longer a futura.
I always had people pull up at the lights wondering what the car had in it... So I chose an Australian V8 badge.
